Automatic irrigation is one of typical ranges of applications for which booster sets are especially suited. In this regard, too, particularly large pressure tanks of our boosters sets are very beneficial. Normally, the expansion of the long flexible hoses which are commonly used is responsible for a pressure drop within the system. The size of the large tank compensates for this and prevents the pump from cutting in again.

Pressure boosting in a domestic water system may be necessary for various reasons. Sometimes the water supplied by the public utilities is lacking the necessary pressure, in particular in the top storeys where the water frequently arrives with a poor pressure. In such cases the installation of a booster set to act as a pressure-increasing system is recommendable. The cut-in or the cut-out pressure can be set very specifically, so that the insufficient pressure provided in the domestic water system can be increased to highly accurate target values.

Dry-running protection prevents pumps from damage caused by overheating of the hydraulic components which may occur in the case of the absence of water or if a system is leaky. Operating pumps with too little or no water at all or with leaking lines - so-called dry running - is frequently the cause of considerable damage to the equipment. With booster sets equipped with dry-running protection this risk is inexistent since the pump will cut out in time.

Prefilters are recommended as accessories, especially for self-priming pumps. They will extend the lifetime of the pump since they filter out efficiently sand and solid matters from the fluid being conveyed. The high-quality filter mesh made of plastic modified to impact strength can be cleaned conveniently so that it can be used over and over again. Such a prefilter is included in the standard equipment of some of our booster sets.

In general, the installation of booster sets requires the observance of the same information and conditions as for the installation of garden pumps and automatic booster units. The only difference is present with regard to the firm installation of this kind of equipment.

For the firm installation of a booster set we recommend the use of flexible hoses between the booster set and the pipeline. In this way you will prevent the transmission of vibrations into the pipeline system. In systems equipped with our booster sets the use of particularly large pressure tanks as a standard feature has proven again and again to be very beneficial. Compared to a smaller designs, a larger tank will lead to a better pressure compensation and a decreased cut-in frequency it.

Another important aspect of the installation of our booster sets is the fact that they are all suitable for conveying drinking water as all these devices are equipped with a food-proof membrane.
