External flow-through filters: Informations
External flow-through filters support the biological equilibrium in the pond and ensure a healthy water in an efficient and lasting manner.
They are positioned outside of the water - best directly next to the pond. The water is sucked in by a pump, then passes through several different filtering processes, to finally flow back into the pond. External flow-through filters are convenient overall solutions: all filtering media, a feeding hose as well as all connection elements are included.
Entry units for small ponds

Small pond with few fish
|
Entry units for small ponds include an external flow-through filter for ponds with few or no fish. The compact and modestly priced filters are perfectly suited for ponds of a lower volume involving little care and efforts, with their water tending only to moderate contamination. The proven starter units include the AFP 35 and AKP 5000 UV external flow-through filter.
UC-C lamps

UV-C lamps remove the germs contained in the pond water
|
UC-C lamps are included as a standard feature in some of the external flow-through filter. They performed an additional filtering process by removing the germs contained in the pond water or by reducing the growth of the algae at long term. Depending on the water quality - and the degree of planting and the fish population of the pond - this additional technology may be more than useful and recommendable so that our selection contains external flow-through filters both with and without UC-C lamps.
External flow-through filters - multiple active stages for a healthy pond water

Multitude of filtering technologies
|
The high efficiency and the success of our pond filters is based on a combination of a variety of continually further developed technologies which have proven over many years. Conventional filtering systems, as a rule, provide only for a mechanical filtering process. In contrast thereto, our external flow-through filters reflect a combination of multiple processes which perfectly complement and mutually reinforce each other in their respective effects.
Mechanical filtering is assumed by filter sponges which filter out large contamination particles.
Biological filtering is done by micro organisms which build up in a Flocor layer.

External flow-through filter: Top-quality pond water and the superior living conditions for fish and plants
|
A natural-chemical filtering process is performed by filter granulates which reduces toxic ammonia and converts nitrate to harmless nitrogen.
External flow-through filters with UVC bulbs add another technology which contributes to the sustainable reduction of the algae growth.
This multitude of filtering technologies in their perfect interaction lead to a convincing result: Top-quality pond water and the superior living conditions for fish and plants.
